Miss Njoko, an alumnus of Wits University and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, is a full-time permanent staff member of the Law Faculty at the University of the Western Cape, and a doctoral candidate, with a particular interest in Criminal Justice. Her current research is focused on the prosecution and sentencing of companies for corruption in South Africa. This study is important when considering that South Africa is one of the many countries that adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and bound itself to the realisation of 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with 169 targets aimed at realising economic, social and environmental development. Upon the completion of her doctoral studies, Miss Njoko intends to continue contributing towards the scholarship of corporate governance, corporate criminal liability and corporate sanctions.
